Beautiful prayer

Prayer of Louis de Blois

Welcome me, sweet Jesus, I beseech thee; press me in the delightful embrace of thy love, and in its warmth let my numbed spirit be thawed to new life. Open, Lord, open at my knock, and admit my orphan soul into the soft recesses of thy divine Heart. Though I am the vilest and most unworthy of sinners, deign, Lord, to open for me the secret chambers of thy love, the inmost shrine of thy Heart. For my soul yearns to be united with thee in active love. But never… Continue

Good Book by Saint Francis de Sales: The Protestant Violation of the Holy Scripture

I have been recently accused by Protestants for my faith in Catholicism.

One of them told me this (accusing Catholics of doing this, because we do not take it literally (?)

The Bible is the word of God. It SPECIFICALLY notes that anyone who adds to or takes away from it is completely flawed in their belief of God. Read Galatians.

This was my response:

Here are some excerpts from the book The Protestant Violation of Holy Scripture:…

Movie on the life of Saint Charbel -two versions

There are two versions. I liked the older version because it seemed to emphasize the Blessed Sacrament more and also showed more prayers that Saint Charbel prayed. However the newer version shows how endearing his mother was when he was growing up.

Both movies are foreign films with English subtitles. So they have not been 'hollywoodized'.

Perhaps watch this for your Mardi Gras party.…

Poor Self Esteem

My sister has been reading a book on how to feel good about yourself and how one talks about or to oneself affects a person's self esteem.  She told me a person should say "I love myself therefore..... "  and you fill in the blank.

I pondered on this and thought that what most people are missing are true Catholic teaching and prayers.   The one and only thing to fill in the blank to this statement is this:

I love myself therefore every morning when I wake up I will…

Going to Rome and visiting the tomb of St. Pius X!

I will be visiting the tomb of St. Pius X.  I have printed out the Litany to him you have posted.  Thank you for posting it!  The novena could not be better timed!  We have it scheduled so we will visit his tomb on August 31st while we are in Rome!

I found this info on the internet about St. Pius X:

On May 19, 1944, Pope Pius X's coffin was exhumed and was taken to the Chapel of the Holy Crucifix in St. Peter's Basilica for the canonical examination. Upon opening the…

the affections of my heart, that all beings created  and

uncreated, should praise Thee, honor Thee and glorify

Thee eternally for that Sacred Wound wherewith Thy

Divine side was rent. I…

We are orphans and St. Louis de Montfort

I feel very deeply in these troubled times that I am an orphan and Mary has adopted me out of the chaos.   I feel like all of us here are orphans because of what has happened to our poor Church!

One of my favorite verses from the Little Crown is this:

"Glory be to thee, oh Mother of orphans; render the Almighty favorable to us!"

I say this little verse often and I am, for me, adding the Little Crown Prayer as an additional prayer for the talks in Rome.  It is a…

The Alleluia after the Epistle at Mass yesterday

As we all have been praying the novena to the Holy Ghost for the Holy Father and for Bishop Fellay and the others on the Council in addition to for all the Bishops.  One thing that struck me at mass yesterday was the Alleluia after the Epistle:
"The Lord hath reigned over all the nations; God sitteth on His holy throne. Alleluia.  I will not leave you orphansI go and I come to you, and your heart shall rejoice. Alleluia."

March 15 reading, Saint Louise de Marillac

An excerpt from the Epistle for March 15, Saint Louise de Marillac was Isa. 58

"When thou shalt pour out thy soul to the hungry, and shalt satisfy the afflicted soul, then shalt thy light rise up in darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noon-day.  And the Lord shall give thee rest continually, and will fill…
