Are you sending your postcards to Pope Benedict XVI, or to "Francis"? There hasn't been a lot of discussion on this site about it, but according to Fr. Gruner just before he died, and Fr. Kramer, and a number of very well-respected theologians, Benedict's attempted resignation was as invalid by canon law, meaning that he is still the pope and Francis is not.

What about this on a postcard to the Holy Father and let the guardian angels decide who gets to read it:

Dear Holy Father,

Please, could you give a ruling to reveal the full text of the Third Secret of Fatima? According to the Second Council of Lyon 1274, also the First Vatican Council by the rite of my baptism from God I am allowed to ask you to make this ruling - it is a matter of ecclesiastical jurisdiction. I need this text in order to carry out my duties, protect my family and save my soul.

The idea behind a postcard is that everyone who touches the postcard will be able to read it... it's a pity I can't write Italian...it would be so effective if lots of us sent the same postcard message to The Holy Father!

Kate, regarding the encyclical from the Council of Lyon, Fr. Gruner didn't say it was in the encyclical, but rather from the Council itself. On the Vatican Web page with the encyclical it says, in the last paragraph of the Introduction, that the text they've presented is very incomplete. I was able to find a reference to extrajudicial (i. e, not through formal judicial process) appeals to the Holy See regarding episcopal elections in the 9th Constitution, but I don't know if that was what he was referring to.

Thanks David. I don't understand the context well enough to make the request by leaning on the council of Lyon, but Papal jurisdiction reaches into all spheres of the spiritual world...it might be worth making the request anyway...
