We are now in the season of Lent, often dreaded by Catholics for its penitential character—particularly of fasting and abstaining.
But as Archbishop Lefebvre explains in his Lenten message of 1982, the practice of fasting and abstaining is crucial for a healthy soul, and thus why the Catholic Church has always reminded her children of the grave obligation to practice these acts of penance.
We have also published a new page about the rules of fasting and abstaining which presents the current laws, while also explaining the traditional practices recommended by Archbishop Lefebvre.
Lastly, we would like to suggest to our readers Angelus Press' The Way of the Cross: A Treasury of Stations featuring 13 methods of making the Stations and even related hymns such as Attende Domine and O Sacred Head Surrounded. This pocket-size book makes a perfect companion during Lent!
