Well that takes the cake. There must be some way to challenge this election under canon law. I'll bet even a layman might have standing to institute a case. But if not a layman, or an organization of laymen, SOMEBODY. This needs to happen. Does anybody know a good canon lawyer?

I admire Verrecchio for  his courage to stand up and say what he said.  I didn't hear error in what he said.  Who cares about personality at this stage of the game.  This pope is a destroyer according to what we are hearing.  In the popes own words, he is flirting with heresy, or at least he is willing to sound like a heretic? Any pope should know that people will follow what he says.  He has no right to speak like that and confuse people.  Remember the whole Vatican II theology is universal salvation (explicit and implicit).   In any case,  Mr.  V's call to arms and alert to sincere Churchman is long overdue.  God help us.

I quoted his words. He is not making an intellectually sound argument. The main thrust is more or less right, but he not using a valid honest argument. For example, I could say "Certain types of yellow chili peppers are hot. The sun is yellow. Therefore the sun is hot." My premises would be true, and so would my conclusion, but the argument itself doesn't hold.

Which reiterates that Francis is Not a true pope but an Anti Pope.  JMHO

From Works of the Seraphic Father St. Francis of Assisi, London: R. Washbourne, 1882, pp. 248-250:

A SHORT time before the holy Father's death, he called together his Children and warned them of the coming troubles, saying: 'Act bravely, my Brethren; take courage, and trust in the Lord. The time is fast approaching in which there will be great trials and afflictions; perplexities and dissensions, both spiritual and temporal, will abound; the charity of many will grow cold, and the malice of the wicked will increase. The devils will have unusual power, the immaculate purity of our Order, and of others, will be so much obscured that there will be very few Christians who will obey the true Sovereign Pontiff and the Roman Church with loyal hearts and perfect charity. At the time of this tribulation a man, not canonically elected, will be raised to the Pontificate, who, by his cunning, will endeavour to draw many into error and death. Then scandals will be multiplied, our Order will be divided, and many others will be entirely destroyed, because they will consent to error instead of opposing it. There will be such diversity of opinions and schisms among the people, the religious and the clergy, that, except those days were shortened, according to the words of the Gospel, even the elect would be led into error, were they not specially guided, amid such great confusion, by the immense mercy of God. Then our Rule and manner of life will be violently opposed by some, and terrible trials will come upon us. Those who are found faithful will receive the crown of life; but woe to those who, trusting solely in their Order, shall fall into tepidity, for they will not be able to support the temptations permitted for the proving of the elect. Those who preserve their fervour and adhere to virtue with love and zeal for the truth, will suffer injuries and, persecutions as rebels and schismatics; for their persecutors, urged on by the evil spirits, will say they are rendering a great service to God by destroying such pestilent men from the face of the earth. But the Lord will be the refuge of the afflicted, and will save all who trust in Him. And in order to be like their Head [Jesus Christ], these, the elect, will act with confidence, and by their death will purchase for themselves eternal life; choosing to obey God rather than man, they will fear nothing, and they will prefer to perish [physically] rather than consent to falsehood and perfidy. Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer.'

Some people think that this prophecy was a reference to the supposed suppressed election of Cardinal Siri as successor to Pope Pius XII.

Just wrote to a SSPX priest about this clip he replied:

Dear Mrs. Jackson,

The pope is notorious for his inaccurate speech and for backtracking afterwards. He could easily mean that others might consider his words heretical though God and he do not. That is why heretics need to interrogated by a superior before being declared formal heretics, and there is no one on earth who can do this as his superior. Some say that a general council could make a declaration, but even this is disputed. It is definitely not as easily as it is too often portrayed and men rush in where angels fear to tread.

Hope it is of use to someone. ...

Hmmmm "He could easily mean that others might consider his words heretical even though God and he do not"

again hmmm

Essentially that is pretty much what David was saying and the very reason we cannot go down the sede path.

Still and all, I agree with Luci's thoughts on the subject.  She summed it up pretty good.

Thanks for checking into it Kate :)
