Hope your day is being ever so kind to you. My goodness the middle of the week already and hubby and I are enjoying our moments of life doing this and that while we are enjoying our cooler days. A good day to have a coffee cup in hand while reading a book. I brewed up some butter finger flavored coffee for the day. Haven't had that blend in a long time, maybe since last fall.Have a pleasant afternoon.Smiles Gloria Our Blessed Lord protect and give our priests the graces they need to be holy and saintly priests. Hope your day has been nice to you . Fall is in the air so hubby and I have been busy doing yard work like cleaning out some of the flowerbeds and taking the apples off the two apple trees we have and etc. The temps are dropping down into the 40's for over night so it is time to start doing some of the fall things while the day time days are still into the 70's. I'm so glad you liked Fr Libietis' sermons. He was our priest for 11 years and every sermon was an in depth spiritual lesson.

Hope all is well for you up there in beautiful Canada(such a great place, I've been there many times).
'As the branch separated from the roots soon loses all life and verdure, so it is with good works which are not united with charity.'
Pope St. Gregory the Great
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'The memory of insults is the residue of anger. It keeps sins alive, hates justice, ruins virtue, poisons the heart, rots the mind, defeats concentration, paralyzes prayer, puts love at a distance, and is a nail driven into the soul. If anyone has appeased his anger, he has already suppressed the memory of insults, while as long as the mother is alive the son persists. In order to appease the anger, love is necessary.'
St. John Climacus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'The principal reason God did give me this grace was the faith and humility with which I gave full credence to the angel's words, and humbled myself completely and yielded to the divine will. And so he condescended to bestow on me so great a grace. So you too, daughter, in all that God promises you or does, do not hesitate from lack of faith or resist him, saying, "Lord, why are you doing this to me?" But following my example say, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord," and so on. Even if sometimes what he promised you is not fulfilled, or what has been bestowed on you by the Lord is taken away from you, blame yourself and think that you have committed some offence in the sight of the divine majesty, on account of which the divine decree has changed. Therefore anyone who wants to obtain eternal life must obey God's commands from his heart in firm faith, submitting himself to him through true humility and obedience, because these are the opposites of the two sins of our first parents, Adam and Eve, who lost the grace and dignity in which they had been created on account of pride and disobedience.'
The Blessed Virgin, to St. Elizabeth, from 'The Revelations of St. Elizabeth of Toss'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'The Creator of the universe awaits the prayer, the immolation of one poor little soul to save a multitude of others, redeemed like her at the price of His Blood.'
St. Therese of Lisieux
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Alas! we easily enter on the road to perdition when we neglect prayer. The prayer which humbles the soul, which inflames her with love and excites her to the practice of virtue, is never subject to illusion.'
St. Paul of the Cross
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'You propose to give up everything to God; be sure, then, to include yourself among the things to be given up.'
St. Benedict
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'On the other hand, gentleness attains its highest expression when we keep our heart calm in the face of someone who is provoking us, and actually show him our love.'
St. John Climacus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'We must cover the failings of our neighbor with the mantle of charity, attributing them to ignorance or inadvertence.'
St. Paul of the Cross
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'If we wish to keep peace with our neighbours, we should never remind any one of his natural defects.'
'Purity comes from Heaven; we must ask for it from God. If we ask for it, we shall obtain it. We must take great care not to lose it. We must shut our heart against pride, against sensuality, and all the other passions, as one shuts the doors and windows that nobody may be able to get in. What joy is it to the guardian angel to conduct a pure soul! My children, when a soul is pure, all Heaven looks upon it with love! Pure souls will form the circle round Our Lord. The more pure we have been on earth, the nearer we shall be to Him in Heaven. When the heart is pure, it cannot help loving, because it has found the source of love, which is God. "Happy," says Our Lord, "are the pure in heart, because they shall see God!
My children, we cannot comprehend the power that a pure soul has over the good God. It is not he who does the will of God, it is God who does his will.'
St. Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney, the Cure of Ars
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'He who despises Hell or forgets it will not escape it.'
St. John Chrysostom
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Let us have charity and humility, and give alms, for almsgiving cleanses our souls from the filth of sin. At death we lose all that we have in this world, but we take with us charity and the alms-deeds we have done, and for these we shall receive a great reward from God.'
St. Francis of Assisi
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'For it becomes us as Christians to turn with aversion from all who speak or think against Christ, as the adversaries of God and the destroyers of souls, and "not even to wish them Godspeed, lest at any time we become partakers of their evil deeds," as the blessed John enjoins. (2 John 10)'
St. Alexander of Alexandria
'Just as water and fire cannot be combined, so self-justification and humility exclude one another.'
St. Mark the Ascetic
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Life without the cross would be unbearable. All happiness here below consists in being able to suffer.'
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Charity urges and impels me; it makes me run from town to town shouting, "Sinner, my son, look where you're heading; you are about to fall into hell. Stop! Don't take another step!" I often ask God, as St. Catherine of Siena did: "Lord, let me stand at the gates of hell and stop anyone from entering, by telling each of them, 'Where are you going, poor fool? Turn back! Make a good confession and save your soul. Don't come here, to be lost for all eternity!'"'
St. Anthony Mary Claret
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Because an interval of time elapses between sowing and reaping, we begin to think there will be no requital.'
St. Mark the Ascetic
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'The saints, to obtain salvation, thought it little to give their whole lives to prayer, penance, and the practice of good works. And what do we do for the same end?'
St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'I know by experience that the greatest punishment that can befall a people is a bad priest. It is best to leave a town without a priest than to send one who is unworthy. If God does not send me men who are truly called, God himself will have to take care of the men and souls by means of his angels. A call is God's gift. I must not bring the unworthy into the sheepfold to destroy it instead of tending it.'
St. Anthony Mary Claret

'The brightest ornaments in the crown of the blessed in heaven are the sufferings which they have borne patiently on earth.'
St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori

Its nice to have someone who knows New Zealand ! I'd love you to tell me more about coming to the Church ! I'm a convert too so I know the joy of receiving such a great grace also. I'm very new to the Crusaders, and am having difficulty finding my way 'navigating'. Can we keep talking ? Thanks for your comments :)
What do I say ! thanks Ioana for your friendship. I'm at work now, but will catch up with you later. We have a Canadian priest here, Fr Robert MacPherson, do you by any chance know him ? Have you checked out the SSPX site for NZ ? www.sspx.org.nz/
God bless, looking forward to getting to know you.
I enjoyed the dog tease - I work in the parish office, and yesterday someone who is unknown, posted on the Principal's 'inbox' a group of very expressive dogs, representing the Principal, the Head of Department and the Subject teacher. I had a good laugh (at the general idea, knowing it didn't apply to our staff !!!) but it quickly disappeared, so it offended someone :(
Anyway, I have been very blessed to have worked with the priests and sisters and staff of the schools here. However, it is nice to have time off to tend to my garden as I hope to tomorrow (Our Saturday). Please remember Stephanie and Peter in your prayers. Stephanie is suffering high blood pressure, and the baby (29 weeks) may come early - as soon as viable. Also Peter has serious heart disease and needs to undergo surgery for gall stones in three days time - there is a danger he will not survive, and he has a young family of 5.Thanks and God bless.
