Hello Adele, welcome to the Crusaders. Thank you for joining us in prayers. If you need any help finding your way around this site, there is a link above for New Members or you can just ask any one of us. May God bless you.
Such a joy Adele seeing a comment from you on my page. My heart is so moved that you will be giving your Mass and Communion for the repose for my sister's Linda soul tomarrow. My arms are around you spiritually along with prayers. I am so happy to read that you live so close to the church so you can go to daily Mass. Such a blessing given to you. Our SSPX priest drives 31/2 hours to get to Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel each Sunday so we have Mass at 2 pm in the afternoon. We are blessed to have Mass each Sunday and I only need to drive 45 minutes to get to the Chapel and other parisheners drive longer. Hubby and I have 5 children and only our oldest son and youngest daughter and their families are staying with the Catholic Faith and myself . Our Catholicism Faith is such a Treasure. You have a very nice day Adele. Hugs and Prayers Gloria
I see you're in New Zealand. Myself and hubbie and children lived in Devonport Auckland (right up on the cliffs between two beaches, beautiful) from May 1996 to July 1999. I only came to the Faith 3 years ago, but how I wish I had known that the SSPX was there during the time I was there, I may have been in the Church a whole lot sooner!
Hi again, thanks for accepting the "friend". This is really such a well done site, I haven't figured out how some people make such wonderful looking pages for themselves though. I also have learned how to put video on and some pictures, other than that I may poke around a bit more, but I actually just enjoy seeing what's being said, joining in on the events (aren't they great?), adding in a comment or two occasionally and of course getting to meet some people!
Goodness what a beautiful rose! I wish I could smell it too :)
Thank you for the lovely birthday greetings.
p.s.I am not sure exactly how the "give a gift" thing works in all its detail. It is something that Ning, our web host provider offers. I know you can purchase so many points and then buy gifts to send, I think you have to have a paypal account, but again I'm not sure.
My birthday is on the 3rd of January. I'm not sure but aren't you already in January 4th? I get so confused too with all the time zones. I can't keep them straight.
I was fortunate enough to have been born on the actual feast day of the Holy Name of Jesus. At least in 1971 that feast fell on Sunday January 3rd. I've always been so grateful to share in that feast. An honor much undeserved but much appreciated anyway.
Hello Adele, Actually my husband and I only returned to tradition (both cradle trads) until 1997, and my trip to NZ was in 1993.Yes, I know Fr R McPherson, in fact his sister, visited Calgary many times. Thanks for all the prayers and good works that you do for op54.
ok I tried it earlier and again just now and when I click the link it just takes me to the same 404 message but with links to buy the Divine Office online.
Did the site you reference change their domain name perhaps? Let me know because I would definitely like to get it up in the Catholic links section.
I found that picture online a long time ago; there was a gentleman who did free religious artwork. Anyway, the IC XC is "Jesus Christ" in Slavic (from the original Greek, I think) - a shortened version - the first and last letters - "Isusus Christos" - the letter "C" in Cyrillic is "S" and "X" is for the hard "Ch" sound. So I am fortunate to have a lovely picture of the Holy Name of Jesus. :-D It is a reminder to me to invoke the Holy Name often.
May Our Dear Lord bless and keep you, Adele. Thank you for all of your good prayers for the Crusaders and esp. me. It is so nice to have you here with us. :-D
Dear Adele, I think no matter which date the baby arrives, "Grandma" will be excited and happy! :-D
Prayers for Emma and Baby. Glad to hear that Jane is feeling a little better. I had forgotten that she had whooping cough in addition to the nausea. :-( Prayers for her and her baby as well.
Please let us know whenever your new grandson arrives. :-)
Thank you for the suggestion it is certainly a good one. We do in a way have something like that although not formed under the direction of St. Monica. We have the group of Saint Pius the X HERE where those who join agree to have at least 1 Mass a year said for the intentions of the Crusaders.
To date Father Brucciani has said 12 Masses for us, Father Fattore has said 31, and there were Masses said at the request of the members also. There will be a Mass offered this week for all the Crusaders and for the intentions of our apostolate. David wasn't sure what day yet but he was hoping to find out in time to announce it so we could all unite our intentions and hearts in union that day.
As for the Holy Hour perhaps you could work something into the Holy Hour group where one is done once a month under the patronage of St. Monica for the intentions you mentioned. I think you might get a pretty good response. There is a way to send out a group message. That would probably be the best way to reach everyone on there.
Please definitely post whatever articles you would like. I look forward to reading them :)
I think you may have to go back into the area where you uploaded the photo of Mary and in that section hit the drop down menu and click "Tile". I think that will cause it to go all the way down your page instead of only at the top.
Concerning the Holy Hour group that is correct, there is nothing set up for Saint Monica. It is just a group for those who wish to make a Holy hour in union. However please feel free to set something up under the patronage of St Monica where individuals can offer to say a HH at the same time/day each month for the intentions you mentioned. That might work best.
If you need some help with your page it might be easier to catch me in chat if possible so I can explain it in real time as they say :)
Hello, Adele! I heard there have been a series of earthquakes in NZ. :-( I hope you and your loved ones are safe. Will be remembering you in thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your note, Adele. I am glad to hear that you are safe. I have never experienced an earthquake but it sounds pretty scary, esp. if things are rattling around you. :-o
I am retired also! Thought after 40 plus years as a nurse I was done. The Good Lord had other plans!!! Still nursing at home. Thank you for including me in the St. Monica
prayer group....have 2 sons who need her help. I will mention your intentions to Our
Lord when I say the novena to The Sacred Heart tonite. God bless you Adele.
I can send you a reminder for the days the Mass will be said, I'm not sure yet if I'll be sending out reminders to all, but I can certainly send you one.
Even though this is Florida believe it or not it has been very cold here the last few days. No complaints though, the rest of the country is in a terrible deep freeze, we only have temps in the 30's so that is not to bad.
How have you been? Are you having a hard winter where you are?
Happy Birthday to you Adele. May our Lord bless you and our heavenly Mother Mary hold you tightly within Her loving arms and cover you with Her mantle of protection always.
Sorry that this wish is late, but I hope that you had a lovely birthday! Thank you for being here with us, especially for your good prayers for us all. May God bless you today and always.
Hello Adele. I would very much like to have you as a friend here. I am struggling a bit with the whole computer thing but it certainly has its uses. Hope you and yours are well. We were most fortunate Fr. Cranshaw was kind enough to include a visit to us in his no doubt well earned break at the end of September so we were more than grateful to receive the sacraments some of us for the first time in a year. We were thrilled to see the grand display St Anthony's made for Our Lord on the feast of Christ the King.
