PRAYER GROUP OF ST. GERTRUDE FOR THE SUFFERING SOULS IN PURGATORY

PRAYER GROUP OF ST. GERTRUDE THE GREAT FOR THE SUFFERING SOULS IN PURGATORY

Prayer of Saint Gertrude to Release Many Souls From Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

St. Gertrude's life was the mystic life of the Cloister – a Benedictine nun. She meditated on the Passion of Christ, which many times brought a flood of tears to her eyes. She did many penances and Our Lord appeared to her many times. She had a tender love for the Blessed Virgin and was very devoted to the suffering souls in Purgatory. She died in 1334. Her feast day is November 16th.

PSALM 129: DE PROFUNDIS

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord: * Lord, hear my voice.
Let Thy ears be attentive * to the voice of my supplication. If Thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities: * Lord, who shall stand it?
For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness: * and by reason of thy law, I have waited for Thee, O Lord. My soul hath relied on His word, * my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
From the morning watch even until night, * let Israel hope in the Lord. Because with the Lord there is mercy: and with him plentiful redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel * from all his iniquities.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son, * and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.

PSALM 129

PRAYER FOR PARDON AND MERCY

Out of the depths I cry to Thee O Lord; Lord hear my voice!  Let Your ears be attentive to my voice in supplication:

If You, O Lord mark iniquities, Lord who can stand?  But with You is forgiveness that You may be revered.

I trust in the Lord: My soul trusts in His word.  My soul waits for the Lord more than sentinels wait for the dawn.

More than sentinels wait for the dawn, let Israel wait for the Lord, for with the Lord is kindness and with Him is plenteous redemption; and He will redeem Israel from all of their iniquities.  Glory be...etc.

Antiphon:  Remember not O Lord our offenses, nor those of our fathers; and take not vengeance on our sins. (In Paschaltime; Alleluia)

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.

Our Father...

V. and lead us not into temptation

R. but deliver us from evil.

V. I said: Lord have pity on me.

R. Heal me though I have sinned against You.

V.Return O Lord.  How long?

R. And have pity on Your servants.

V. Let Your kindness O Lord be upon us.

R. As we have hoped in you.

V. Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness.

R. And let Your saints rejoice.

V. Cleanse me from my unknown faults O Lord.

R. From wanton sin especially restrain Your servant.

V. O Lord hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Amen
