Father and Teacher of the young, in need of special help I appeal with confidence to thee, St. John Bosco, for I require not only spiritual graces but also temporal ones, particularly....

May thou, who on earth had such a great devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and to Mary, Help of Christians, and who always had compassion on those who were suffering, obtain from Jesus and His Heavenly Mother the grace I now request and also a sincere resignation to the Will of God.

This quotation rings true for my prayers too! Thanks Cathleen just starting this St John Bosco novena for Joseph Kelly and Joseph Kane alongside rosary novena.
I have been reading F.A. Forbes' biography of Don Bosco, and it's great (an easy read for my weary mind). There was a quote in there somewhere about how someone was praising Don Bosco for a miracle which came through his prayers. Of course he gave all the credit to Our Lady. But then when pressed further he said something like, "Well, we work together, she and I." :-)
