This septena consists of 7 septems (praying the Seven Dolors) each day for 21 days in petition; then immediately, 7 septems each day for 21 days in thanksgiving, whether or not the request has been granted. Our Lady will substitute another and doubtless better favor.

This septena is one of love and compassion for Our Blessed Mother. Look upon each septem as part of a garland which you weave to present to Mary our Sorrowful Mother, the Queen of Martyrs.

You would say the first dolor through the seventh each day until you have completed the prayer for 21 days.

Starting immediately after you have finished the 21 days in petition you do the same thing in thanksgiving until 21 days have been completed.

I apologize, I had a feeling this was going to be confusing but thought we'd try it anyway.

Let me know if that clears it up for you.

I don't know why they have the word rosary in there.
