I just came back from Oxford (I'm attending some lectures - The Great Ruins: Six English Medieval Abbeys in Context) Quite interesting but I read out that the general public can still attend lectures and classes (not tutorials) really cheaply - Basically you could study full time using Oxford University free / min cost Lectures and classes - cool for students taking a year out I thought...Especially if you wanted to learn beginner Latin and Greek or Medieval Philosophy, Logic, Metaphysics History of the Liturgy (NO) Ancient Philosophy etc. Just something to keep in mind if you know someone who might be interested.I really wish I did this for my son rather than making him do mainstream A Levels without qualified tutors!
Popped into Ashmolean Museum to see Giotto's Virgin and Child - I always feel the need to pray when I go in and see this painting even though it is in a museum!
