Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Pope Pius XII says, "Devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is essentially devotion to the love with which God loved us through Jesus and is at the same time an enlivening of our love for God and man."  It is therefore the most excellent form of religion because it renders honor and homage to the eternal love of God for men.

 

Christ became Man because He loved us, He suffered and died because He loved us,  He lives in the Blessed Sacrament because He loves us, and He is utterly forbearing with us because He loves us.

 

Man's heart is a symbol of his love.  Christ's Heart is regarded as the source of His love for mankind.  No wonder men honor His Heart as a wonderful symbol of Christ's love for them.
