Daily Devotions to St. Joseph - Day 11

We must believe that the life of St. Joseph, spent in the presence  of Jesus and Mary, was a continual prayer, abounding in acts of faith, confidence, love, resignation and oblation.  Since then the reward of the saints corresponds to their merits during life, consider how great must be the glory of St. Joseph in heaven.  St. Augustine compares the other saints to the stars but St. Joseph to the sun.

It is then very reasonable to suppose that St. Joseph, after Mary, surpasses all the other saints in merit and glory.  The Venerable Bernadine de Bustis says that when St. Joseph asks for any grave for those who are devoted to him, his prayers have in a certain manner the force of a command with Jesus and Mary.

St. Joseph, obtain for us the great spirit of prayer.

Saint Joseph , obtain for me and family the grace of a very devoted love for Jesus Christ, my God and my Savior and our Blessed Mother Mary.  Help us to serve Him with some of the self-sacrificing love  and devotion which you had while on this earth with Him.  Grant that  through your intercession with Jesus,your foster-Son. we may reach the degree of holiness God has destined for us and save our families souls.

St. Joseph, pray for the Holy Father, that whatever shackles bind him from consecrating Russia may be broken and the consecration  of Russia to the  Blessed Virgin Mary be accomplished. For the conversion of Rome; for the conversion of the Pope and the conversion of all poor sinners.

St. Joseph, grant myself and my family peace and resignation to God's will at the hour of our  death and the Apostolic Pardon Prayer blessing will be given to me and our family at our death.† Blessed and exalted be the Precious Blood of Jesus and the Sorrowful and  Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with love and reparation.
