I'm sorry for not replying sooner to your question about cremation.  I did a little bit of checking and found this information.  I hope it is helpful, or at least a starting point.

I understand your concern.  I have had a couple of uncles who were cremated.  I didn't know about it until after they had died so I don't know if it was their decision or their ill-informed family members.
