Short reading {from the Psalter for the season of the Church year}
Isa 60:6
All they from Saba shall come, bringing gold and frankincense: and shewing forth praise to the Lord.

Mother of Christ, hear thou thy people's cry
Star of the deep and Portal of the sky!
Mother of Him who thee from nothing made.
Sinking we strive and call to thee for aid:
O, by what joy which Gabriel brought to thee,
Thou Virgin first and last, let us thy mercy see.

V. The Angel of the Lord announced unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts: that as we have known the incarnation of thy Son Jesus Christ by the message of an Angel, so too by his Cross and passion may we be brought to the glory of his resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
V. May the divine assistance  remain with us always.
R. Amen.

O Lord, Almighty God, King of heaven and earth, Saviour of the world, bless, lead, rule and govern our hearts and bodies, our senses, words and deeds today, following thy law and commandments, that here and for eternity with thy help we shall be saved in freedom. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
R. Amen.

Stir up, we beseech thee, Lord, the wills of thy faithful people,

that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works,

may of thee be plenteously rewarded.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord,

Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost,

ever one God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Before the ending of the day,
Creator of the world, we pray
That with thy wonted favor thou
Wouldst be our guard and keeper now.

From all ill dreams defend our eyes,
From nightly fears and fantasies;
Tread under foot our ghostly foe,
That no pollution we may know.

* O Father, that we ask be done,
Through Jesus Christ, thine only Son;
Who, with the Holy Ghost and thee,
Doth live and reign eternally.
Amen.

O God, Who year by year dost gladden thy people by the solemn feast of thy blessed Virgin and Martyr Cecilia, grant unto us, we beseech thee, not only devoutly to observe the same, but also to follow after the pattern of her godly conversation.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.
R. Amen.

Turn back the evils upon my enemies; * and cut them off in thy truth.
53:8 I will freely sacrifice to thee, * and will give praise, O God, to thy name: because it is good:
53:9 For thou hast delivered me out of all trouble: * and my eye hath looked down upon my enemies.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was at the beginning, now and ever shall be world without end.

Amen.

 ... Look upon thy servants and upon thy works: and direct their children.
R. And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us. Direct thou the works of our hands; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
R. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end...

Amen.
