What now? - Return to Fatima
When asked if it was possible for the Cardinals to elect a heretical Pope, Father Malachi Martin responded,
“Yes, we could have an apostate as Pope. In that case, we would be into something terrible. We would be into something which is nightmarish. It would test the faith of the greatest saint. … Your faith would be battered to pieces. If that happens, they (The Kingdom of Darkness) would have the prize and everything would have to go underground. We are, indeed, on our way to becoming, as Paul VI described in his misery, an infinitesimally small part of humanity. “ (Fr. Malachi Martin)
In another quote, Fr. Martin expanded on his prophecy about this pope:
“Roman Catholics will then have the spectacle of a pope validly elected who cuts the entire visible body of the Church loose from the traditional unity and the papacy-oriented apostolic structure that the Church has hitherto always believed and taught was divinely established. The shudder that will shake the Roman Catholic body in that day will be the shudder of its death agony. … Many will accept the new regime. Many will resist. All will be fragmented. There will be no one on earth to hold the fractionating members of the visible Roman Catholic body together as a living compact organization.”
Admittedly, there are creditable doubts about the validity of Pope Francis’s papacy, nevertheless, he is the current occupant. And he continues in his stated mission to make a mess of the Church. This past Thursday, this Pope of Affliction continued to prove that he is, in tragic fact, the Apostate Pope foretold by Fr. Martin those many years ago. At a recent address in St. John Lateran, the Bishop of Rome once again struck at the roots of the Church’s doctrine.
The Pope of Irreversible Change
When asked about the “crisis in marriage”, Bergoglio responded with an anecdote about a young man who wanted to become a priest “but only for 10 years”, stating that, “it’s the culture of the provisional”. He then went on, “It’s provisional, and because of this the great majority of our sacramental marriages are null. Because they say “yes, for the rest of my life!” but they don’t know what they are saying.” He then added, “I’ve seen a lot of fidelity in these cohabitations, and I am sure that this is a real marriage, they have the grace of a real marriage because of their fidelity,…”
Note how he skillfully worked in doubts about the validity of Holy Orders while also undercutting the validity of Sacramental marriage! Clever, no? Although even Fox news has noticed that the Pope is doing incalculable harm to the Church and should be made to resign, the great number of catholics prefer to deny the obvious. I heard them described once as “those who gather butterflies on Mount Calvary”. Right at the scene of the crucifixion of the Bride of Christ, they are following illusions, intently ignoring the Passion of the Church. In an earlier post, we wrote of this,
“Since the vast majority of Catholics do not respond to the Chastisement of the faith, nor now, even the open and outright apostasy of the faith in this post-synodal Church of Mercy®, the “New Church” instituted by Pope Francis, God will most likely begin the final stages of the Chastisement. This will be the Chastisement of the material world, with immense suffering and in which the few survivors will envy the dead. But it will take most men by surprise because, since they refuse to follow the command of Our Lady for penance and prayer, their intellects and spirits are darkened. …”
This is the time foretold in the Apocalypse, as Sister Lucia warned us and many approved prophecies before her. The “great dragon, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan” will be cast out of the Church. As Malachi Martin warned us, this malignant force which currently controls the Vatican cannot be dislodged by human means. It is supernatural and draws its immense strength from the Lord of this World. In nearly 100 years, faithless and lukewarm Catholics have failed to obey the warnings of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Mother, thus giving free rein to the evil entrenched in the Vatican.
What now? Two thoughts on this from two holy women:
From Blessed Elizabeth Canori Mora:
“Behold, my daughter, such great ungodliness.” Blessed Elizabeth then saw “apostates brazenly trying to rip her most holy Son from her arms. Confronted with such an outrage, the Mother of God ceased to ask mercy for the world, and instead requested justice from the Eternal Father. Clothed in His inexorable Justice and full of indignation, He turned to the world. At that moment all nature went into convulsions, the world lost its normal order and was filled with the most terrible calamity imaginable. This will be something so deplorable and atrocious that it will reduce the world to the ultimate depths of desolation.”
From St. Hildegard von Bingen:
“Before the Comet comes, many nations, the good excepted, will be scoured with want and famine. The great nation (*) in the ocean that is inhabited by people of different tribes and descent by an earthquake, storm and tidal waves will be devastated. It will be divided, and in great part submerged. That nation will also have many misfortunes at sea, and lose its colonies in the east through a Tiger and a Lion.
The Comet by its tremendous pressure, will force much out of the ocean and flood many countries, causing much want and many plagues. [After the] great Comet, the great nation (*) will be devastated by earthquakes, storms, and great waves of water, causing much want and plagues. The ocean will also flood many other countries, so that all coastal cities will live in fear, with many destroyed. All sea coast cities will be fearful and many of them will be destroyed by tidal waves, and most living creatures will be killed and even those who escape will die from a horrible disease. For in none of these cities does a person live according to the laws of God. “Peace will return to Europe when the white flower again takes possession of the throne of France.” [St. Hildegard von Bingen]
*Many believe this refers to USA.
Although there is no chance any longer of stopping or even mitigating the culmination of the Chastisement, we must return vigorously to the true message of Fatima. Right now, we must resolve to pray at a minimum, one Rosary a day for the specific intention of reparation for the blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the Consecration of Russia. Our Lord told us that the Pope would do it, “but it will be late”. He also cautioned us to pray very much for the Pope. Once the current occupant is cleansed from the See of Peter, we may hope for the promised Holy Pope who will consecrate Russia and restore the Faith. but there will be much bloodshed and violence in the interim.
As a footnote, I have lost many readers through my opposition to the “Divine Mercy” devotion. For those who remain, I urge you to use Our Lady’s Rosary only for that use which she asked for, and to always keep in mind that Our Lord Jesus Christ requested that the image of His Sacred Heart be the object of devotion. Therefore, to waste our time with novel devotions to a heartless image is a great offense to Him. Our Lady of Fatima warned us to stop offending Him. She repeated this at Akita, after the official Church attempted to silence her message at Fatima. She emphasized her warning by stating that fire would fall from the sky and the survivors would envy the dead.
Readers, I do not see how any of this could possibly be made any more clear. Catholics have become willfully blind and will follow one another to destruction. We must pray the Rosary, we must fast, do penance and beseech heaven right now for mercy. We are at Golgotha and the Church is in Her Passion. This is not the time to go wandering around in search of other “revelations”, other devotions which contradict the true devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As word of the apparitions spread around the countryside, more and more people were coming to believe that something supernatural was happening in Fatima. While at the same time, those whose hatred for God and the Catholic faith were determined to put an end to these miraculous happenings once and for all…
The village of Fatima belongs to the County of Ourém. At the time of the apparitions, the mayor of Ourém was Artur Oliveira Santos, a man of tremendous political power. All administrative, political, and sometimes even judicial power was centered in his hands.
Though he was a man of little education, a tinsmith by trade, he had been in politics since his youth. A baptized Catholic, he had abandoned the Church at the age of twenty to join the Masonic Lodge of Leiria. Later, he founded a lodge at Ourém of which he was the head. What added to his power was the fact that he published a local newspaper by which he endeavored to undermine the faith of the people in the Church and the priests.
When he heard about the apparitions of Fatima, he realized the effects they might have among the people. He realized, too, that if he allowed the faithful in his area to reinvigorate their faith, he would be laughed to scorn by his friends and Masonic brethren. In his mind, there was only one answer to the excitement at the Cova… it must be stopped.
On August 13, 1917, as 15,000 people awaited the arrival of the Lady at the Cova da Iria, the mayor of Ourém did the unthinkable: he kidnapped the children.
He lured them into his carriage by telling them he would drive them to the Cova, but instead, he stole them away to the jail in Ourém, determined to discover the secret that the mysterious Lady was telling them.
First, he offered them candy and some money, but they refused. Then to incite fear in the children, he told them they would be fried alive in boiling oil!
A guard appeared, who in a fearsome voice called out to Jacinta: “The oil is boiling now: tell the secret, if you don’t want to be burned!”
“I can’t,” Jacinta said courageously.
“Take her away and throw her into the tank!” yelled the inquisitor. The guard grabbed her arm, swung her around and locked her in another room.
Then another guard came and led Francisco into the Magistrate’s office. Grabbing hold of the boy, he shouted, “Spit out the secret. The other one is already burned up; now it’s your turn. Go ahead, out with it.”
“I can’t,” he replied, looking calmly into the eyes of this new Nero. “I can’t tell it to anyone.”
“You say you can’t. That’s your business. Take him away. He’ll share his sister’s lot.”
Francisco was taken into the next room where he found Jacinta safe and happy.
Lucia was convinced that they had been killed and thinking that she was next to be thrown into the burning cauldron of oil, she trusted in her heavenly Mother not to desert her, but to give her the courage to be loyal and courageous, even as Francisco and Jacinta had been.
Thus, no matter how horrific the threats were, the children had refused to give away the secret or say that they were lying.
Meanwhile, in the Cova da Iria, the 15,000 people who had gathered were getting impatient at the absence of the children. It was then that they witnessed the clap of thunder and flash of light just as before. A small, white cloud hovered for a few moments over the holm-oak, then rose towards the sky and disappeared. The Lady had kept Her appointment as promised.
Maria da Capelinha who had been at the earlier apparitions gave an account of that day:
“As we looked around us, we noticed the strange thing which we had seen before and were to see in the following months; our faces were reflecting all the colors of the rainbow, pink, red, blue... The trees seemed to be made not of leaves but of flowers; they seemed to be laden with flowers, each leaf seemed to be a flower. The ground came out in colors and so did our clothes. The lanterns fixed to the arch looked like gold.”
Two days after the Lady’s appearance at the Cova, the children were released unharmed. Our Lady had shown Herself to be more powerful than the devious plans of the Mayor of Ourém. For it was because of the miraculous signs that day that thousands upon thousands of people went from distrust of the events at the Cova to belief.

August 19, 1917: The Fourth Apparition
Since the three shepherd children missed their appointment with the Lady on the 13th, they received a special visit from Her on Sunday, August 19th. The fourth apparition did not take place at the Cova da Iria, but in a clearing called Valinhos near the children’s homes in the little village of Aljustrel.
After lunch, Lucia, together with Francisco and his elder brother John, left for Valinhos. This time, Jacinta was not with them.
Lucia later wrote about the unexpected apparition:
“I felt that something supernatural was approaching and enveloping us. Suspecting that the Lady was going to appear to us, and feeling sorry that Jacinta would not be there to see Her, we asked her brother John to go and get her. An instant after Jacinta arrived, the Lady appeared.” Once again, She appeared over a holm-oak tree.
Lucia asked, “What does your Grace want from me?”
"I want you to continue going to the Cova da Iria on the 13th, and to continue praying the Rosary every day. In the last month, I will work a miracle so that all may believe. If you had not been taken away to the City, the miracle would have been even greater. Saint Joseph will come with the Child Jesus, to give peace to the world. Our Lord will come to bless the people. Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of Sorrows will also come.
Looking very sad, She also said:
“Pray, pray very much and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because they have no one to make sacrifices and pray for them.”
The Lady then took leave of Her little friends and began to rise towards the east.
After Our Lady left, the children broke off a small branch from the tree where Our Lady’s feet had touched it. When they returned home, Jacinta gave the branch to Lucia’s mother. Sniffing the branch, she was surprised that it was giving off a pleasing odor, one that no one in the house could identify.
It was a little gift from Our Lady, but a gift that helped take away some of the skepticism and doubt that Lucia’s own family had.
