Having just got into a heated disagreement with Mr. Matt last week I'm none to keen on posting his stuff here (but I never have been keen on it).  But having said that I'm posting this anyway because to me it is an accurate description of the s-i-n-o-d no matter the source.

The reality is I actually feel sorry for Michael M. after hearing this small synopsis he gives on what has happened in Rome.  He sounds very down hearted and down trodden and for that I do feel bad for him.  But for these neo conservative types I hope that this s-i-n-o-d will last and finally be the wake up call that jolts them from the comfortable slumber they have been in for the last 50 years and helps them to understand that coming under an unconverted Rome can only be fatal.

For years they have berated and looked down at people like BPW and others who wished to stay clear of Rome for just this reason...it has lost the Faith.

It seems to me this synod has finally brought home that reality.  It might be a difficult thing to finally accept for some.  Hence the reason I do feel bad for Michael.  I pray he and others will not lose their Faith over this, but become the soldiers God wants them to be.

WHOAAA...Also from the Remnant ( a neo-conservative newspaper---maybe they really are waking up)

"Some of you are now calling for a “listening event”, a call to listen to what the world has to say on issues of morality. Well, how about you listen to this first:

You are the unfaithful shepherds spoken of by God through the Prophet Jeremiah:

“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture…You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:1-2)

You are undoubtedly going to hell unless you repent. Well did John the Baptist say of you: “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?” (Matthew 23:33).

Like the nation of Israel, who spiritually “lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses” (Ezekiel 23:20) you, like a whore, prostitute your office as shepherd and play the harlot with the world.

You are Pharisees, who care more about the money you make from the flock than the salvation of souls. You are Pharisees, who rejected Christ’s teaching about the indissolubility of marriage and who defiantly maintained the Law of Moses over the Law of Christ.

You are sick, wicked bishops who do not care about the salvation of souls. If you cared about souls, you would call them to confession and faith in Christ, but instead, you wish to damn souls by giving them Holy Communion while in a state of grave sin. Stop confirming people in their sins, and start preaching repentance and faith!

You concern yourselves with the hardened consciences of sodomites and other wicked sinners but care less about the consciences of your flock, who are wrestling in their consciences over how to be subject to your wicked rule."

These quotes are taken from an article written by Hilary White;

For now, I will offer the words of St. Basil on what people were doing to keep the Faith during the worst days of the Arian crisis:

Religious people keep silence, but every blaspheming tongue is let loose.
Sacred things are profaned; those of the laity who are sound in the Faith avoid
the places of worship as schools of impiety, and raise their hands in solitude,
with groans and tears to the Lord in Heaven.”

Four years after, he writes: “Matters have come to this pass: the people have left
their houses of prayer, and assembled in the deserts
, – a pitiable sight; women
and children, old men, and men otherwise infirm, wretchedly faring in the open air,
amid most profuse rains and snowstorms and winds and frosts of winter; and again in
summer under a scorching sun. To this they submit, because they will have no part
of the wicked Arian leaven.

Again: “Only one offense is now vigorously punished an
accurate observance of our fathers’ traditions.
For this cause

the pious are driven from their countries and transported into deserts.”

Where do we go from here?

Perfect....fits exactly!
