St Peter, the devil and Our Lord in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

I'm so fortunate here in S Florida to have access to both the Priests of the Society of St Pius X as well as a very special Priest of the Society of St Pius V. This Priest of the SSPV in his Sermon last week alluded to 1 Peter 5: 8-9 from Compline:

Brothers: be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist he, strong in faith.

Father said in effect, the devil in his pride bullies lesser souls, devours them. And then he referenced Our Savior, saying see how humble Our Lord is: how he allows lesser souls to bully Him, devour Him in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

This knocked me off my feet.

Lord, never permit me to offend Thee again. Grant that I might love Thee always, and then do with me what Thou wilt.

A profound thought indeed; a good contemplation <3  Thank you Bill for sharing it+

Thank you, Bill.

This is so hurtful to me :( Our poor Lord He is so good to us and merciful.

I pray that none of us ever receive Our Lords Sacred Body unworthily.

And I pray especially for those who have they are in most need of God's

Mercy.

Thank you Bill that is a great meditation.

Thank you very much, Bill.  That gave me a lot to think about.

Thanks everyone. It took me a week just to be able to get it into those few feeble words. But what a great meditation for Holy Week.
