Mea culpa I have not been faithful to the Saint who picked me :(  Honestly with all that is going on I forgot.  Mea maxima culpa.

I re-read the article about Pope St. Julius.  He helped reinstate St. Athanasius and moved against the Arians.  So in a way you are helping do that too, by joining us all in prayer, esp. to that great St. Athanasius of our time, +HE Marcel Lefebvre.

St. Julius's feast day is coming up soon, April 12!  :-D

What I'm trying to say is that SOMEONE has to be Our Fearless Leader, and I guess it's you, dear heart.

Besides, an "easy" Saint picked me....one whom we know more about (St. Ephrem)  But lots of humiliations have come my way lately, so he isn't always an "easy" friend to have...but I guess they have been for my own good.

I was feeling so guilty all day long for not having given my dear saint the attention he deserves and then I read what you wrote Cathleen.  What a kind and charitable thought.

Thanks for making me feel better.  I've decided to offer 3 Aves in honor of St. Julius everyday and ask his intercession for a particular intention.

Thank you also for the reminder of our saints.  It is important.

I too, haven't always been remembering St Paul. I believe he is a patron for persevering in the faith and seeing as practising the faith (getting to Mass etc..) is quite hard for me, I would really like his help to keep going. I'm praying for a way to live nearer to a Mass centre which would be amazing! St Paul, pray for us.

Maybe St. Julius "gave me a nudge" to push this discussion back to the top?  ^_^

We're reading the book, Saint Paul Apostle of the Nations.  So far it's good. It's the history of St Paul's life from before his conversion and after.  I include St. Paul now after all rosaries and pray to him for the conversion group.

Dear Dense....oops I mean Joseph (teehee)

Here is the link that explains what the Saint of the Year is all about and how each of us was picked by our saint  LINK

It has nothing to do with Crusaders but several of us participated.   My husband was picked by Saint Paul (which he is very excited about and I must say which I am quite jealous!).  Saint Paul is the permanent Patron of Crusaders.  However as for the Saint who picks you a new one picks you every year but you have to sign up some time every December, that is where the year comes in.

Ok,call me dense but if my understanding is correct then St.Paul is the saint of the year for the crusaders or are we supposed to pick our own personal saint?

DM, don't forget St. Julius's feast day is tomorrow.....plus there will be another Holy Mass for all of us, offered by the good Father.  Double bonus!  ^_^

HAPPY FEAST OF POPE SAINT JULIUS I

Thank you for the reminder Cathleen :)

Ave Maria x 3 in his honor!

I am "bumping" this back up to the "top" in honor of "my" Patron for the Year, my dear St. Ephrem (or Ephraim) of Syria, whose feast day is this coming Monday, June 9.  ^_^

Dear St. Ephrem, please pray for your erring child and guide me along the way of salvation.  Thank you for choosing me this year and for the lessons I have already learned from your great example.
