Sounds somewhat convoluted and smells of vatii but he will still appear to those enemies in the conciliar church as far too conservative and bucking Francis with these remarks.

I hold out hope he will yet convert back to the True Faith, God willing+

In his remarks he says the mission of the Church is not to increase Her numbers but to "share the joy...".  This is obviously not correct.  The mission of the Church, the supreme Law of the Church, the highest law of the Church is the salvation of souls.  If one goes out to save souls by bringing them to the one True Faith then it stands to reason Her numbers would increase.

When Our Lady appeared in Guadalupe those who converted were in the millions.  It took the Father's 20 years to baptize all those who came into the Church.

Poor Benedict...my prayers continue for you every day, for whatever they are worth.

Ohhh brother!!
