First priory in Nigeria opened
LaPorteLatine has reported on the opening of the SSPX ‘s new priory in Enugu, Nigeria on August 26 named after St. Michael the Archangel.
This is the Society’s first priory established in Nigeria, which will be able to offer a stable presence for the Society’s apostolic work in Nigeria including retreats. Presently, about 200 faithful attend Mass at Enugu. The priests stationed at the new priory are Frs. Nicolas Bely, Arnold Trauner and Nigerian priest (whom some Americans may remember from his short time in Winona), Fr. Gregory Obih.
The blessing of the priory and Solemn Mass were followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a lunch embellished with some traditional African dances. The day was ended with Benediction with the faithful singing enthusiastically, rejoicing in their good fortune to obtain a priory for their country.

What great pictures! And such good news, esp for our members in Nigeria. :-)
Thank you for posting these. It is a great start. From little seeds come big trees.
May the Holy Archangel, St. Michael, watch over and protect "his" priory and its members.
John-mary, hope you are feeling better now.
Yet another good and holy priests leaves the SSPX.
Speech (in German) of Fr. Trauner about his farewell letter, the development of the SSPX in the last years, the aberrations and confusions of some of the SSPX leaders and the necessity not just to keep the faith, but also to condemn the aberrations of it.
The main points of his departure letter:
Fr Arnold Trauner, on the 19th anniversary of his ordination, leaves the SSPX to give up his spiritual homeland. He wants "to be true to truth and to preserve the grace of priesthood undamaged".
"For what once was my spritual homeland lies in ruins. For more than a decade the SSPX has openly as well as secretly worked its own downfall (1), has been ashamed of its origin (2), has denied its founder (3), has showed the enemy how to occupy the bastion"
(1) See conference of Fr N. Pfluger, 5th of May 2012 Hattersheim (Actio Spes Unica)
(2) Change of name in Germany from "Priesterbruderschaft St. Pius X." to "Piusbruderschaft" defrauding "priest", "saint", and "X" = anti-modernism
(3) Doctrinal Declaration of 15th April 2012
(4) GREC
Facts have to be faced. Everyone can see the facts. Many brethren did not miss the facts. Those who remain silent seem to agree. A priest is not permitted to remain silent while the enemy wrecks the souls. To further wait would be a sin.
The situation won't get better. Recent signs proof this (6). Whether the enemy will raze the bastion, will burn it, or will keep it for his own purposes, is all the same.
(6) The first Assistant of the S.G. said in a homily 16th Juni 2013 that noone knows what ABL would do today. But if Catholic truth doesn't change and ABL is a defender of that truth, then he would reject rotton compromise today.
