Miraculous Image of the Child Jesus
A monk on the desert is reported to have taken a picture of the Holy Eucharist while exposed. Upon developing the film, this image of the child Jesus appeared. Sometime later, Jesus told this same monk------”I promise to send my blessings and my peace to each home where this image is found.”------ Look at that sweet face!

My Lord and my God!
Praised be Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament!
Beautiful indeed.
I don't know what to make of this photo. There's no indication of the presence of a Host, for starters. And I don't find the the expression on the face particularly inspiring. Anyway, I downloaded it and did a Google image search in Firefox, which pulls up the same photo posted elsewhere. This particular photo has gone viral; I found hundreds of pages (there may be thousands, or even millions, but I saw hundreds) and the curious thing is they all had the identical text: "A monk on the the desert is reported to..." I couldn't find any mention of the name of the monk, when this allegedly happened, or in what desert. Then I started finding the same text in other languages. (I know several languages a little.) Always it was "a monk in the desert" reportedly took this picture. Until I found a hit in French calling the photo dangerous. It was a blog of a woman named Veronique who said (and I used Google translate to help because my high school French is pretty rusty) that she thought the photo was diabolical in origin. She said that if you look at the the hands carefully, they look like claws. So I did look at them carefully, and particularly the one index finger and the thumbs look very much like claws. So I really don't know what to think.
What you may be perceiving to be his hands are probably not. Enlarge it and you can see he is holding something in them. I know what it looks like to me but I'm curious what you think it is.
Also I got this from Matthew Taylor whom I trust very much. He has never put up something that was off or not good....never even once.
I'm not saying it IS demonic; in fact, I very much think that's highly unlikely. As it is, I am aware of no compelling reason to believe that it's of supernatural origin at all.
As you know, the Church has always proceeded cautiously in declaring that an alleged miraculous occurrence was in fact miraculous. Indeed, they never declare one authentic; at best that it's supernatural in origin, and contains nothing contrary to faith or morals, and therefore it's okay to believe in it if you want to.
My best guess (and this is just my personal guess) is that it's a hoax, a sweet picture from the 1920s or '30s (given stylistic elements) that somebody decided to pass off as miraculous in origin, either as a joke or to "show up" pious people as gullible. If it were real, I'm fairly sure that it would be possible to find some information about who took the photo, or when, or where, what the local bishop had to say about it, etc. Instead, everybody is just copying and pasting the same image and text.
As for the hands, they do look weird. I have no idea what's up with them. The picture is a small, 72 ppi image, so when you enlarge it the image degrades significantly, and the more you enlarge it the more it degrades. The size posted gives the sharpest view.
