Mall attack in MN

Prayers for the folks in St.. Cloud, MN.   My daughter lives here and told me she was going to go

to the mall yesterday, but decided not to go.  I was there about a month ago with her.

Thanks to all for your prayers.  My daughter is safe.  I talked to her on Sunday and she said

that she actually was at the mall about an hour before the attack, then left to shop at a store across the

street.  Upon leaving that store, she noticed the lights/sirens in the area and then "plugged" into an app on her phone that  monitors 911 calls.  She then found out what was happening. 

We must always be on our guard.  Evil actions can occur anywhere, even in the "heartland" and especially in places/times we would least expect them to happen. Each of us needs to decide how to prepare for such things---spiritually and temporally.....chapels and mass centers included.   Have a plan or strategy.  Just like we are told to prepare for emergencies...economic crashes, power outages, hurricanes, etc., we need to plan, prepare and implement strategies for the spiritual/physical warfare which is, and has been waged since the Garden of Eden.

War is war, whether it is another country, in our country, or in our hearts. 

 The key is not to become physically or spiritually paralyzed with fear or apathy.  It is easy to when the terror is not happening to you or is far away in terms of distance or culture.  

St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us.  St. Padre Pio, pray for us.  St. Joseph, Terror of Demons, pray for us.

This was very sobering to me.  I am so glad to hear that your daughter was safe.  I think her Guardian Angel steered her away from the mall.  I've had that happen more than once, where I was late leaving the house and missed a traffic accident, etc.  I always attribute it to my good Angel.  That is one reason I always make sure to post that Novena to the Angels in October.

You are right.  We need to remember that it's not only a war on the temporal plane but in the spiritual one as well. We have Our Lord, Our Lady and all the Angels and Saints to help us, if only we ask for their help.

Thanks for your thoughts, Cathleen.  You are right:  her Guardian Angel did steer her away from this

incident.  And yes, I too have experienced the same types of protection from my Guardian Angel.   He 

works overtime way too much.  But I love him and appreciate everything he does for me.  I wish

more folks would know and love their angel.

Is There a novena to St. Raphael?

Yes, there is one coming up for St. Raphael.  His feast day is October 24, so I think it starts Oct. 15.   One intention is for family life, since it is under attack from all sides in so many horrendous ways (I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone sometimes).  Since St. Raphael guided the young Tobias in his travels and dealings with others, and especially in securing a good wife in Sarah, I thought to ask his intercession for our families.
