In memoriam: Fr. Hector Bolduc

Fr. Hector Bolduc (then USA-Southwest District Superior) with Archbishop Lefebvre at St. Vincent de Paul Church in 1981

The Regina Coeli House has just learned of the passing away this morning of Fr. Hector Bolduc.

Fr. Bolduc's had been one of the earliest American members of the Society of St. Pius X, and was the District Superior of the Southwest District in the United States for several years until 1983 - after the Southwest and Northwest Districts were united into the present USA District.

It was due to Fr. Bolduc's efforts that the SSPX obtained the substantial properties of St. Marys, Kansas, Queen of Angels Church in Dickinson, Texas, St. Vincent de Paul Church in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as many other places for offering the True Mass.

Fr. Bolduc was also a firm supporter of Archbishop Lefebvre, especially during the crisis that afflicted the SSPX in the United States due to opposition of "The Nine" sedevacantist priests.

Though Father decided to depart the SSPX for personal reasons shortly after resolution of the 1983 crisis, he continue to hold the Society in high esteem and remained in contact with the District Office throughout the years.

Fr. Bolduc had been residing in New Hampshire for many years, where only a few months ago he had been diagnosed with throat cancer. Presently, no details about his funeral are known.

Please pray for the repose of Fr. Bolduc's soul: requiescat in pace.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let Thy perpetual light shine upon him.  May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.

Amen

O God, Thou didst raise Thy servant, Father Bolduc., to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ, according to the Order of Melchisedech, giving him the sublime power to offer the Eternal Sacrifice, to bring the Body and Blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ down upon the altar, and to absolve the sins of men in Thine own Holy Name. We beseech Thee to reward his faithfulness and to forget his faults, admitting him speedily into Thy Holy Presence, there to enjoy forever the recompense of his labors. This we ask through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord. Amen.
