Scary yet true :O
One can only laugh at this truly, because it is so ridiculously true.
Seriously, you have to live in Oregon it is just crazy here.
Thanks for the "laugh"!? I was once an English teacher years ago. At the end of my first
year of teaching, the principal visited me to talk about a student of mine who I
had failed, yes the big fat 'F'..., for not doing anything in class all year. He wanted
me to change her grade to a 'C'' so she could graduate with the rest of her class because
her name was already on the graduation program. She and her family would be hurt and
humiliated if she didn't walk with her class. Of course, her social and emotional
future rested on me, if I didn't literally give her a passing grade.
I told him, "No, I won't do it. If her grade is going to be changed then you do it,
and sign your name next to it."
Such is public school.
And...how did any of us who grew up in the 60's and 70's ever survive without political correctness?
I remember some of the boys from high school who kept their shotguns in their pick-up trucks in the school parking lot, because they were hunting either before or after school. Some of the teachers and principals did the same. No school shootings every happened, at my high school or any nearby ones (Thanks be to God, still the same case locally).
We still had the miscreants who had to repeat classes because they had failed.
Not everything was perfect, but it seems a whole lot better than today. :-p And people ask me why I homeschool.....
