Feast of the Annunciation and pregnancy

I was very fortunate one year to be able to see the good fortune of a fellow Catholic mother becoming pregnanat at this time of the year.

To follow the sanctoral cycle of the church in the companion of the saints is a beautiful thing ....but to able to track Our Blessed Lady's pregnancy by becoming pregnant in time for the feast of the Annunciation is a huge blessing for both the mother and the child.  Imagine how, as a mother you can enclose yourself in the oratory of prayer with every step of the formation of the baby.  Each kick, becomes a prayer - perhaps a reminder of the jump of joy when St. John The baptist recognises Our lady and the Messiah in the womb, every journey during pregnancy could be a re-enactment of The Visitation, the naming of the child, the preparations of baby clothes and the cot all take on a more holy mantle.

...you lucky ladies waddling around dealing with fear, morning sickness, pain, fatigue and tiny toddlers! Please comfort yourselves by taking time each day to enter into your oratory and pray for us who will never be able to take part in your glorious temporal cycle with Our Lady again.
