A New Prior
at Bellaigue

4-26-2011

The Benedictine monastery of Notre-Dame de Bellaigue (France) has a new prior in the person of Dom Placide, who was elected on April 9th during the conventual chapter, presided over by Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta of the SSPX.

Dom Placide succeeds Dom Angelo, the first prior of the monastic foundation at Santa Cruz in Brazil, which was founded in 1988 from the abbey of Ste-Madeleine du Barroux. Dom Angelo died on March 9, 2008.

During the interim, Fr. Matthew has served as the priory for the past three years.
