Event Description

We will begin our Second Annual Consecration to Mary according to St Louis Marie Grignon DeMontfort on July 16th 2012 the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Father Marc Vernoy SSPX Sanford Florida has graciously agreed to oversee and guide this effort once more.

This consecration will be for some a renewal and for others a first time consecration.  All are welcome!

The date set for our consecraion/renewal will be August 22nd the Feast of The Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Father Vernoy will be available to help any members participating either by email or by phone.  His email address and phone number will be available to all members participating in this event.

There is a 33 day preparation which we must follow before making our consecration or renewing it.

Approximately two weeks before we begin this preparation it is recommended to read Saint Louis DeMontforts "True Devotion to Mary".
For those who do not have the book the Crusaders will be posting a portion of True Devotion each day until it's completion and there will also be a link provided with the full text of the book as well.

More Information will be provided in the coming weeks.

Congratulations, Mark!  :-)  :-)

I agree, doing it as a group is a blessing.  I never would have managed on my own; I tried several times before and always failed.

Congratulations Mark, that is great!

Happy Feast of the Immaculate Heart.

I went to Mass at 7.30 this morning at Blackfriars Priory (Dominican), Cambridge (UK) and afterwards made my Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and also got invested into the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  I see this as a real milestone and almost like a reconversion.  I'm sure i will look back on this day as a very important one.

Thank you for organising this, for Father Vernoy's choice of materials and all the positive comments.  Doing it as a group really helps.

Me too Christine!  Very excited : )

I wanted to let you know I could only make it to the 6pm Mass tomorrow so that is the time I will do the Consecration.  I think that is 5pm Iowa time.

I agree with what DM wrote.

I try to read and re-read things I missed before.  Sometimes I catch things that I missed the first time around.  :-p  This is a renewal of the Consecration for me, but sometimes I feel like I am doing it for the first time.  I know I have grown "soft" and needed to do this preparation again.

Dear Mark,

Yes I would agree on what you say about not feeling ready but going ahead anyway.  If a person does feel that way and then backs down now I'm willing to guess that the next time they try to do the consecration the devil will tempt them worse (the next time they try) with the intent to keep them from doing it at all ever.  From that point it might become more and more difficult to try and ever do if one gives in to not doing the consecration the first time for those reasons or reasons of unworth too.

Yes I'm sorry I should have said in greater clarity that there is about a week between the last day of the prep and the date chosen for the consecration.  Catching up on any readings etc during the days between the end of the prep and the 22nd is a very good idea.  Just my thoughts anyway...

A further thought.  If there are "spare days" before the consecration would it not be possible for people to "catch up" during these days?

I, too, am unsure about whether i am ready to do the consecration, but i doubt whether i would ever feel ready.

Even though for these reasons I am tempted to think that i shouldn't do the consecration I also think that i need to sort of get it done now in faith that as i renew it annually (or more regularly) by the grace i receive from being more united to Jesus through Mary i will be better able to re-consecrate myself in the future.  Please correct me if i'm wrong in my assumptions or intentions here. Thanks.

I'm a bit confused with the dates.  I was assuming that we would do the consecration on day 34 (18/8/12) but i've just re read some of the original information which says that the consecration should be done on 22/8/12.  What do we do on the days between the end of the preparation 17/8/12 and the Feast of the 22nd?
