Event Description

Because St. Philomena refused nothing to her beloved Jesus, in turn He refuses nothing she asks for.  St. Philomena is invoked for "anything" but especially in desperate or "impossible" cases.

O faithful virgin and glorious martyr, St. Philomena, who works so many miracles on behalf of the poor and sorrowing, have pity on me.  Thou knows the multitude and diversity of my needs.  Behold me at thy feet, full of misery but full of hope.  I entreat thy charity, O great Saint!  Graciously hear me and obtain from God a favorable answer to the request which I now humbly lay before thee...(here specify your petition).  I am firmly convinced that through thy merits, through the scorn, the sufferings and the death thou did endure, united to the merits of the Passion and Death of Jesus, thy Spouse, I shall obtain what I ask of thee and in the joy of my heart I will bless God , who is admirable in His Saints.  Amen.

I think I tell this story every year, but I need to apologize to St. Philomena and want to do so publicly.  I had asked for a great favor from her but it didn’t happen - or at least not how I had expected.  In fact, it was worse than what I had imagined.  I was very upset and for awhile didn’t want to pray to St. Philomena any more.  Yes, I was acting like a spoiled brat.

But in hindsight, I finally realized that while the matter didn’t turn out the way that “I wanted” in reality it was all for the better.  God knows what is best for our souls and St. Philomena made it happen.
Thank you, dear Saint.

Please intercede for my loved ones who are not living good lives and need re-conversion to our Catholic faith.
