Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, intercede for the Holy Church, protect the Sovereign Pontiff and help all those who invoke thee in their necessities. Since thou art the Most Holy Mother of God and ever-Virgin Mary, please obtain for us from thy Most Holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope amidst the bitterness of life, burning charity and the great grace and precious gift of final perseverance.

DM, I am not 100% sure about the use of that term "Mystical Rose" in connection with Our Lady of Guadalupe. I copied the above prayer from "The Raccolta." I know it is one of the titles of Our Lady in her Litany. If I were to guess, it is because of the "heavenly and mystical" roses which she gave to Juan Diego to take to the bishop, which of course fell away to reveal her image on his tilma.
I received the Angelus Press Calender for 2014 and for December 2013 they have a picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe with the words Mystical Rose on it. Then I saw that this expression was used in this prayer as well and also by Michael C. in his post.
Is there some special significance of this expression regarding Our Lady of Guadalupe? Can anyone elaborate?
Thanks so much.
