In a recent discussion with His Excellency Bp. Williamson he suggested the recitation of the Psalms daily, spread out over a number of days as a spiritual exercise.
He suggested this spiritual exercise in order to maintain ones peace and tranquility amidst the growing chaos both in the Church and in the world through the recitation of some of the most beautiful prayers out there, the Psalms.
It is meant to remind us that God is in control in all times, even in such times as these. To pray the Psalms is to pray prayers given to us by God through David.
We will post 3 Psalms a day for 50 days. You can find the Psalms for each day posted HERE AT THIS LINK and as well on the homepage each day.
*PLEASE NOTE* THIS IS NOT LIKE A NOVENA WHEREIN IF YOU MISS A DAY YOU MUST START OVER OR EXCUSE YOURSELF. IF YOU MISS A DAY OR MORE YOU CAN SIMPLY CONTINUE ON.
To join just mark the R.S.V.P. as "Will Attend"

Yes I know what you mean. In the Book of Job his wife tells him to just bless God and be done with it (paraphrasing a little there) but in actuality what she said to him was he should curse God, but it says bless. So the wording sometimes can lend to confusion. In the Psalms David does seem to jump from speaking of the wicked to the good or vice versa so that also can be hard to follow. I just pray them anyway even if there are some that I don't fully understand. But bottom line, no it isn't just you who gets confused by them...I know I do too.
No, nothing in particular -- just sometimes a little hard trying to follow. It seems like David switches from referring to God and then to men / His enemies back and forth. Maybe it's just me. Sometimes I try reading the psalms after a busy day here and my mind is toast! :-S
Is there something you can point to in particular that is causing you confusion? Some of them can be hard to follow but I just wondered if there was any one in particular.
I'm trying my best, but sometimes get a little confused reading and understanding some of the psalms. :-S Am I the only one? Just wondering......
Amen

There is still nothing here....am I doing something wrong?
I cannot wait either :)
