The CatechismClass.com website that you promote by Matthew - actually refers to the CCC  throughout the classes. He reassure customers that he is trad,  avoids the Vatican II  attends only the TLM  but be aware that he uses the modernist Catechism of the Catholic Church and the dangerous "Theology of the Body"  by Christopher West as reliable sources,

Don't worry!  I don't read his site much, if at all.  Matthew is trying, even though he has to "walk the center line" at times.

Over the years, the "picking of the saint, or the saint picking you" has

been a beautiful addition to the new year, as well as learning about and praying to the saints for help.   In a world

(and Church) that is becoming more and more dreary, sinful and in some aspects--hopeless, his work in this respect should be positively noted.  Many folks here participate in this event and we like passing among us which saint "picked us" for the the up coming year.  And more interestingly, how this saint has related to or  impacted our lives in some way.   There has been fascinating stories.....

We have countless friends in heaven just jumping up and down wanting to help us, but because of certain factors are too obscure or forgotten to even be considered....sad.    These are the ones we need to learn about and ask for help in our lives.   Like a child at Christmas, waiting to open that present....I enjoy that day when Matthew sends out the "pick list", searching for my name and the saint that chose me!

Here are some past posts and the results of "the picking".

Susan-

I see.

My patroness for this year is St. Scholastica.  :-)

Three years ago, my patron was St. Ephraim.  I didn't know much about him, but have read some of his sermons and writings (he is a Doctor of the Church) and have continued to pray for his help and guidance these past few years.  Without Matthew's effort, I don't think I would've made "friends" with this good saint.  So it was a win-win for me.  :-)

I'm very privileged this year, I have St Anne :-) I actually don't know St Anne very well so it will nice to have a deeper understanding of her.

I got Saint Martin De Porres :)

I don't think I'm spelling that right :o

I have Blessed Margaret of Castello. I do have a book on her life  in the mist of my Catholic books. It has been many years since I have read it and looking forward to reading it again. Blessed Margaret of Castello, pray for us.

My husband and I were married on her day-April 13th.  She is very close to our hearts and when I think I want to complain about anything she immediately comes to mind.  She is most precious.  So happy she picked you :)  You'll fall in love with her too I'm sure.

My saint is St. Gaugericus, or St. Gery, for short.

His feast day is August 11th, which happens to be the same feast day of St. Susanna!
