I hope these men keep this clear thinking and fire in their souls and that they don't lose it. Too many have either fallen silent i.e. the SSPX or others who are using tainted language who are making this synod appear not so bad.
This is truly a brilliant interview. But at some point the penny has to drop concerning certain facts with the SSPX seeking reconciliation with this new church as Mr. Matt calls it. You can't praise and glorify Bp. Fellay on one hand for what he is doing and then on the other hand uphold people in history who did the opposite of what Bp. Fellay is doing. If you say "who wants to be part of this new church anyway" and then in the same breath defend Bp. Fellay for seeking to reconcile with this same new church then you are speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
If Bp. Fellay was truly seeking their conversion he would not be willing to enter under their control and hand everything of the Society over to these obvious heretics. Without FIRST their conversion, it is as many of us have been saying (and been trampled on for doing so) an act of suicide for Tradition.
I agree. How can they reconcile with statements like these:
“The Synod is putting an end to the Church that judges people. We are not a church of judgement. We are a welcoming church, listening to the people and speaking in clear terms. Tenderness is the word of this Synod. This is the beginning of a new Church.”
—Archbishop Lucas Van Looy, Ghent, Belgium
“‘The axiom’ every marriage contract between Christians is itself a sacrament ‘should be revised’. In no longer homogeneous Christian societies or in countries with different cultural and religious patterns, you cannot assume a Christian understanding of marriage even among Catholics.” ~ Cardinal Schonborn
"We are all growing in this regard. When we come to meetings like the synod and listen to one another, we learn from one another. We hear bishops telling stories of their relatives’ pain, and we grow.
Western countries have grown in regard to this issue. When I studied in the United States in the 1970s, science considered [homosexuality] a sickness and a disease. Over the years that evaluation has changed. Other countries have to grow in the same way and it can take time." ~ Cardinal Peter Turkson, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.
I'll tell ya Michael, I've had my ear to the ground with this sInod and even the neo-cons are outraged. So much are they outraged at the evil that has happened and the arrogance with which it was done and the far reaching damage that it will and has had they themselves are now admitting that the only way for this to be fixed at all is by direct intervention from God Himself.
Far be it from me to agree with neo conservatives but on this I do. God must intervene or we are looking at untold years of untold incredible damage to the Church. If vatii wasn't bad enough this sInod has put everything over the edge.
God help us all.

Dawn Marie,
What is even more troubling is that the synods are not going to end. There are already planning the next one to address more integration of same sex couples in the Church for the sake of the family, to end all the hurt and misunderstanding through listening, focus groups, and understanding. God help us. This combined with the decentralization of the papacy is forming a new church indeed, as Archbishop Van Looy stated. No doubt about it. How about the synod stating that children must have sex education outside of the home? What's next?

Me too, but a concealed backup is always a good idea...

Amen+ For whatever reason these people are just now waking up to this. It's like it's something new to them strangely enough. Still prayers that they stay on this road and don't slide back down to where they were.

I keep hearing these commentators say that "The church will never be the same" or "they have changed the church and made a new religion" or something like that. It seems that they and a lot of people have forgotten that a certain Arch Bishop name Marcel Lefbvre wrote"They have made a New religion" all this is just a continuation of the New Church or the Conciliar Religion. When JohnXXIII opened the 2nd Vatican council it was for the purpose of bringing the church into the modern world,to update the church, well that was fifty years ago so now it must be updated again, and instead of an ecumenical council they will use the synod the new weapon of choice for the destruction of Christ's church.
I am disheartened at the crocodile tears coming from these "conservative commentators" if they were truly paying attention to the good Arch Bishop or if they truly understood the beast that was unleashed during the 2nd vatican council there would be no surprise at what is now happening.
It is going to get worse,to again quote the Arch Bishop "Rome has lost the Faith they are in full Apostacy",these New church men are hell bent on destroying the remmnants of Christ's church, which we know cannot be destroyed. The question is, how far will Our Lord let them go before he steps in,because it is too late for a human solution only Our Lord and Our Lady can do any thing now.
Our Lady of Fatima save us.
:) locked and loaded, fire at will! :)

You know, I have a shooting buddy named Will. It's always a hoot at the range when the rangemaster calls out "Fire at will!"
