V. O Lord, hear my prayer. R. And let my cry come unto thee. Let us pray. Visit, we beseech thee, O Lord, this dwelling, and drive far from it the snares of the enemy; let thy holy angels dwell herein to preserve us in peace, and let thy blessing be always upon us. Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. R. Amen.
Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable his ways! R. Thanks be to God. Hymn As fades the glowing orb of day, To thee, great source of light, we pray; Blest Three in One, to every heart Thy beams of life and love impart. At early dawn, at close of day, To thee our vows we humbly pay; May we, mid joys that never end, With thy bright saints in homage bend. To God the Father, and the Son, And Holy Spirit, Three in One, Be endless glory, as before The world began, so evermore. Amen. V. Bless we the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. R. Let us praise Him and exalt Him above all for ever.
Psalm 118(33-48) 118:33 (He) Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: * and I will always seek after it. 118:34 Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; * and I will keep it with my whole heart. 118:35 Lead me into the path of thy commandments; * for this same I have desired. 118:36 Incline my heart into thy testimonies * and not to covetousness. 118:37 Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: * quicken me in thy way. 118:38 Establish thy word to thy servant, * in thy fear. ...
V. Kneel. Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful; and kindle in them the fire of Your love. ...
Sequentia Holy Spirit! Lord of light! From Thy clear celestial height, Thy pure, beaming radiance give: Come, Thou, Father of the poor! Come, with treasures which endure! Come, Thou light of all that live! Thou of all consolers best, Visiting the troubled breast, Dost refreshing peace bestow: Thou in toil art comfort sweet; Pleasant coolness in the heat; Solace in the midst of woe. Light immortal! Light divine! Visit Thou these hearts of Thine, And our inmost being fill. If Thou take Thy grace away, Nothing pure in man will stay; All his good is turn’d to ill. Heal our wounds - our strength renew; On our dryness pour Thy dew; Wash the stains of guilt away: Bend the stubborn heart and will; Melt the frozen, warm the chill; Guide the steps that go astray. Thou, on those who evermore Thee confess and Thee adore, In Thy sevenfold gifts descend. Give them comfort when they die; Give them life with Thee on high; Give them joys which never end. Amen. Alleluia.
O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ; grant, we beseech thee, that through his Mother, the Virgin Mary, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. May Almighty God arrange our deeds and our day in His peace. Amen.
O strength and stay upholding all creation, Who ever dost thyself unmoved abide, Yet day by day the light in due gradation From hour to hour through all its changes guide: Grant to life’s day a calm unclouded ending, An eve untouched by shadows of decay, The brightness of a holy death-bed blending With dawning glories of th’ eternal day. * Hear us, O Father, gracious and forgiving, And thou, O Christ, the co-eternal Word, Who, with the Holy Ghost, by all things living Now and to endless ages art adored. Amen.
103:33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live: * I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. 103:34 Let my speech be acceptable to him: * but I will take delight in the Lord.
