I am so happy these sermons have been a refresher to you Nekkah. To hear someone say such a thing is so good. God bless you dear girl+
oh my goodness John-Mary that is WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!! :)))
Most Priests Go to Hell! That sounds like a contrdiction to scripture. Priests are certainly Beleivers in the Lord Jesus christ and Their Works are Towrads Rightousness and are in accordance with Gods will. " Most: means I would say over 60 percent or even higher and I have a hard time accepting that as True. Only 1 percent of the Priests are involved in the sexual immorality scandals. I Pray daily for My Priests, deacons, Bishops and The entire Leadership of the Catholic Church although I cannot say I have always done so. What is this based on this Most Priests Going to hell? and How can it be Proven or is it from a vision from Father Boscoes Dream? I do however belleive that we should all be Praying more for our Spiritual Leaders even as much as 3 to 6 times a day whenever possible. Praying for them in Purgatory! They are certainly under more attack than an average person!!
That may be only looking at one aspect; the sexual immorality which has plagued the novus ordo Church in our time.
How many priests, and only God knows the number, spend their days out on the golf course, or neglect their flock because of one reason or another?
That is NOT to take away from those dear priests who are quite literally spending their lives in the service of Christ tirelessly feeding His little ones. It is not to take away from those priests who do without sleep, or food, or r&r, or who (as one priest I know) gives small pennances to his little ones in the confessional and is mocked for it, but what people don't know is that he does their pennance for them. He just doesn't announce it to the world. Neither is that to take away from those good priests who struggle endlessly for the conversion of poor sinners and who often times, and especially in these overwhelmingly wicked times become plagued with temptations to despair because souls have become so hard hearted to Our Lord and His Church and His Truths.
So what Father Pfieffer addresses here is not those priests but he addresses the others of whom St. John Chrysostom was speaking of.
You are so right Daniel, it is imperative that we pray for our priests, that they persevere and remain good and holy instruments of Him whom they are hypo-statically united to. Without them, we are dead in the water.
Don't forget to look at "sermons and lectures" sidebar on "Voice of Catholic Radio", especially Father Pfeiffer's "St. Mary Magdalene-the Repentent Sinner". What a terrific sermon!!! Can someone post it to this column? as I have no clue to how it's done. Thanks.
Thank you Iona! I've added it and a few more too : )
