**UPDATE Prayers Needed for SSPX Priests

10/24/14 ** update on Fr. Cooper:

Yesterday, a member of my family contacted Father directly to inquire about his health and to offer prayers for him. He relayed this information: The cancer was a huge surprise. He thought he had just a back ache but the pain just kept getting worse...broken vertebrae, hernia, possible cancer...then cancer. He did get good news last Friday (10/17) when a bone scan revealed no cancer anywhere else, which was a surprise to the oncologist. If the cancer is localized in the vertebrae, the doctors could do surgery and 'fix things', perhaps. He is waiting for the results of a bone marrow biopsy which the doctors say would be 'conclusive'.

So I guess one could call this news "guarded optimism". From the catholicinfo site, someone there

posted that he had not offered public mass in over a month. He is still teaching catechism. His mom is now there, from Michigan, to help out. And Fr. Stafki is being sent to Arcadia to take over

for him right now.

Please pray for three holy priests of the society:

Fr. Trevor Burfitt--he had his second back surgery this year, about 3 weeks ago. He will have to take

it easy for up to 6 months in order to heal...(he didn't quite do this the last time :) ) So his priestly duties will be limited for a while...perhaps 6 months?

Fr. Daniel Cooper-- a tumor has been found growing in his spine. Unknown if or what kind of cancer this is. I just heard about this yesterday from Fr. Loop, who visited our mission. Perhaps anyone who attends the Arcadia, CA chapel can find out more information.

These two priests are battle hardened soldiers of the Lord, both being current and past pastors of

St. Thomas Becket in Veneta, OR.

Both Fr. Burfitt and Fr. Cooper are very special to our our family.

Fr. Fr. Markus Heggenberger--apparently is suffering from an unknown illness. Anyone with

information please fill us in as best as you are able.

Will pray daily the five decades of the sorrowful mystery of the Rosary of the BVMary for Fr Burfitt, Fr Cooper and Fr Heggenberger. Our Lady health of the sick, pray for us! St Camillus Lellis, pray for us! St Rita of Cascia, pray for for us!
